FDU BEATEN BY WILKES 34-7

MADISON, NJ - The FDU Devils fell behind early as the Wilkes Colonels scored twice in the first quarter to go up 14-0. Wilkes improves to 2-0 as FDU drops to 0-3. Jeff Marshman accounted for both of those TD's, passing to Ryan James for a 23-yarder on the first TD and running himself for a 1-yard TD on the second. FDU managed to close the lead to seven points when Mark Pollifrone (Manalapan, NJ) hit Ed Cracchiolo (Marlboro, NJ) with a five-yard pass to make it 14-7 with 1:31 left in the first half. The Colonels came back with two TD's in the third and another in the fourth to seal up the win. Cracchiolo led FDU in rushing with 48 yards. Mike Quigley (Manalpan, NJ) led the Devils with 51 yards receiving. Andre Sowell (Neptune, NJ) returned a kickoff for 50 yards. For Wilkes, Mike Lorady ran for 68 yards. Marshman passed for 261 yards on 16-for-32 passing with 2 INT's. Frank McCabe reeled in four passes for 97 yards while Brian Miller caught five passes for 80 yards. For FDU, Tom Pouliot (Hillsborough, NJ) led the way with 11 tackles (three solo). Eric Eickhorst (South Bound Brook, NJ) made both interceptions for FDU and returned them for a total of 51 yards. He also made seven tackles (two solo), and Jose Sanchez (Egg Harbor City, NJ) made seven tackles (two solo) as well. FDU looks to rebound when they travel to Reading, PA, taking on the Albright Lions in a 6:00 start on Saturday. The Devils hope to continue their winning streak against the Lions, including a 24-3 win last season.
